My article, which was solicited by the editor, shows that Momaday's use of traditional Kiowa tales within the larger structure of A Way to Rainy Mountain is a form of what Benjamin calls 'perpetuating remembrance' in his essay on 'The Storyteller'; and my essay further illuminates this act of cultural memory through reference to Paul Ricouer's study of 'Narrative Time.' --author-supplied description
