Abstract

The study of the formation of the technologically important material LiMnO2 using in situ X-ray and neutron diffraction is discussed. These non-invasive probes allow for the determination of kinetic and mechanistic information under real reaction conditions. We were able to conclusively show that MnOOH transforms directly to LiMnO2, with no presence of transient intermediates. --author-supplied description
