Abstract
This paper used spectroscopic methods to determine that a compound synthesized by collaborator Christine McKenzie and her students has one iron in the +2 oxidation state and the other in the +3 state (rather than both having an oxidation state of +2.5). I was responsible for obtaining and interpreting the X-ray and near-IR spectra that were used to come to this conclusion. --author-supplied description
