Description

This two-volume monograph details the financial and administrative history of Haverford College from its founding in 1833 through 1933, with additional content spanning into the World War II era.  The source material are the hand-written financial records (ledgers, cash books, stock subscriptions, receipt books, farm records, “stationery” (student) accounts, payrolls, endowment holdings, more than 150 documents in all) recorded by the College's earliest treasurers, which the author indexed and annotated over a decade-long volunteer project in the Haverford Libraries' Quaker & Special Collections.
