Abstract
The show featured twenty four landscapes painted on Haverford campus, Chautauqua Institute, NY . Town of Tilting, Fogo Island, Newfoundland. The weather in them range from vernal to wintry, and the subject from single trees to coastal fishing villages. These thickly impastoed semi-abstractions relay a personal, specific interpretation of nature., fusing the aggressive facture of expressionism with Chinese calligraphic efficiency and poetic sense of place. --artist-supplied description
